Gamble on 'American Idol,' 'Sex and the City' slot machines

If you're over 21, you can now play slot machines based on two of your favorite shows, "American Idol" and "Sex and the City." Both slots were new releases at the 2009 Global Gaming Expo in Las Vegas. In "American Idol," slot players can trigger a bonus round that lets them become one of three judges -- Simon Cowell, Kara DioGuardi or Randy Jackson -- and then plays video clips of past contestants, good AND bad. According to Sphere.com , Paula Abdul was the lone holdout participant even BEFORE she announced she was leaving the show. Innnteresting. Meanwhile, the "Sex and the City" slot machines are subtitled "Change of a Dress." Clever, no? They feature bonus rounds that include video clips of all four women plus Mr. Big. International Game Technology spokeswoman Julie Brown told Sphere, "There's shoes and purses and lots of bling and big bonuses and the music track, and it's a very interactive game." 'Burn Notice,' 'Psych' get January dates

USA will shake up its original series slate a little bit in January as both "White Collar" and "Psych" will move to new nights. "Burn Notice" also has an official return date, though it's staying put on Thursday nights. The cable channel's winter slate ill kick off on Jan. 19 when "White Collar" moves from Friday to Tuesday. The back half of "Burn Notice's" third season will debut Thursday, Jan. 21. "Psych," which has aired on Fridays for much of its life, will move to Wednesday nights beginning Jan. 27. That will give USA three consecutive nights of original series. (And at least a portion of the NBC Universal empire will have scripted dramas at 10 p.m. ET.) 'Chuck': Preview the new season with Zachary Levi

We are now 45 days away from the season premiere of "Chuck," and to whet our appetites NBC has supplied a scene from one of the early episodes featuring the new, improved Chuck Bartowski. The scene features Chuck ( Zachary Levi ) undercover as a guitar player, looking like a nerdier version of Antonio Banderas' "Desperado" character. (Even better, Adam Baldwin's Casey is all frilled up as a bartender.) Apparently, in addition to spy skills, the new Intersect also put some other tools into Chuck's brain -- like how to play the guitar. As Levi puts it in the video, "it's almost like a caterpillar -- go with me -- to a butterfly." Life for "American Idol" Season 7 winner David Cook has been going well, enough so that his stealthy victory over David Archuleta really doesn't seem so surprising anymore. With his self-titled album making platinum, Cook has been enjoying his solo tour "Declaration," which hits Fort Lauderdale's Nova Southeastern University on Sunday, Nov. 29. On his tour, he tells the Miami Herald that he's been trying to "unveil" a new song. Fast National ratings for Thursday, Nov. 26, 2009 Americans were settling into a collective food coma on Thanksgiving night, so consequently TV viewing was pretty light. CBS and a "Survivor: Samoa" clip show led the way. CBS drew 9.3 million viewers and a 5.4 rating/11 share on the night, beating second-place FOX (6.6 million, 3.4/7) by a comfortable margin. ABC (5.4 million, 2.9/5) came in third. NBC finished fourth with 4.3 million viewers and a 2.6/5, and The CW (2.35 million, 1.4/3) trailed. The adults 18-49 ratings played out the same way, with CBS' 2.4 snagging the top spot. FOX took second in the demographic at 2.0. ABC, 1.6, was third, followed by NBC, 1.3, and The CW, 0.9.
